“Ajhai Pani” honors Women Power and Unveils Trust Alok

Ajhai Pani unit and Punam Entertainment felicitated nine women personalities from various walks of life, and disclosed the opening of Trust Alok amidst a program held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, January 27. The last directorial venture of late Alok Nembang, “Ajhai Pani” is slated for release on February 27 (Falgun 15). Minister of Information and Communication Minendra Rijal and Minister of Energy Radha Gyawali were present in the program among other distinguished guests.
Among the honored are acclaimed actress Gauri Malla, medical doctor Sudekchha Shrestha, fashion designer Sailaja Adhikari, commissioner of Communication Commission Yashoda Timilsina, educator Kumud Bhatta Chhatkauli, environmentalist Sarita Gyawali, beautician Rashmila Shrestha, politician Srijana Adhikari and banker Pabitra Limbu.
Speaking on the program, Minister Rijal opined high of “Ajhai Pani” and dubbed its initiative as praiseworthy and significant. Likewise, Minister Gyawali appreciated the contribution made by the movie unit in women empowerment. Producer Punam Gautam revealed the movie as based on women issues. “The reason behind choosing to honor women ,” Gautam said,” the movie is women—centric.”
“Ajhai Pani” unit also disclosed the opening of Trust Alok in memory of late director Alok Nembang. According to producer Gautam, the trust will be chaired by mother of late Nembang and Punam Entertainment will be the patron. The first scheduled program of the Trust will be to honor composer and country's first music video director Sambhujit Baskota. Late Alok Newang was a passionate director who directed about 800 music videos and three movies---Sano Sanar, Kohi Mero and Ajhai Pani.
Jointly produced by Punam Gautam and Sudarshan Thapa, under the banners of Sudarshan Thapa Production and Punam Entertainment, ”Ajhai Pani” features Sudarshan Thapa, Puja Sharma, Surakshya Panta, Mithila Sharma, Bijaya Lama, Bishal Dhungana, Pushpa Khadka and Rameshwor Pathak. The movie shot by cinematographer Rajendra Shrestha and edited by Pritam Pandey is based on a story penned by Ramsharan Pathak. The movie—music are composed by Mahesh Khadka, Hari Lamshal, Rajanraj Siwakoti and Sachin Singh. The fight scenes are directed by Astha Maharjan.
