'Damaru Ko Dandibiyo' to release in Japan, rights sold for 7 Lakhs



Khagendra Lamichhane starrer ‘Damaru Ko Dandibiyo’, which was critically acclaimed despite performing average in the box office, is all set for foreign screenings. The film will now release in Japan as the rights for the country has been sold for Nepali Rupees 700,000. Seven Samurai International’s Raju Lama and producer Binod Rai of Samriddhi Entertainment signed a memorandum of understanding recently, allowing Lama’s company for screening right in Japan. Resham Kumar Dangol is the MD of Seven Samurai International.

The film is in the third week of screening in Nepal. Directed by Chheten Gurung and written by lead actor Lamichhane, the film tells the story of a young man who goes back to his village to revive the game of Dandibiyo. Menuka Pradhan, Anup Baral, Asanta Sharma, Ankit Khadka, Laxmi Bardewa, Buddhi Tamang, Ingi Hoppo Sunuwar are among the major actors in the film.
